Even empty lorries coming back to the depot have huge clouds of choking dust following them. It isn't just New Street where this is a health hazard, as they drive through Chelmsford City.

The source of this contamination is the Aggregate Industries depot in Brooks Street. This company is owned by Holcim, both of which tout their environmental credentials in order to get large government contracts.
